Has anyone tried these to see if they get the tabs up high enough to not make the wake mushy? I like the wake better without the tabs, but prefer them when cruising.

I put them on mine and they work great. I bought them mostly for when I am pulling up to a beach, but notice that there are times when I just leave them up for boarding. As long as your tabs were mounted correctly they should work out fine for you....

I have to agree...
I love mine. Works great! I usually have mine down for everyone but me wakeboarding, when they are wakeboarding, tubing, skiing, or kneeboarding. I am the only one of my friends that will jump, so it works out great. When i get out to board, I switch them in the up possition, and it is a much bigger wake for me ( harder to plane for the wifie though ). If you get them, make sure you put some lock-tight on though. I lost a handle, but Nauticus sent me a new one at no cost to me. Just my $.02!

How easy it to retract them? Is it like pulling a pin and you're done?

No they just slide up or down. They fit over a hump on the bracket to hold in place. They work very easy........

I use them just as RAT Attack does. When the tabs are up they don't affect the wake at all. I can lean over from my swim step or just reach down while in the water to easily move the tabs up and out of the way.
