Smart Tabs are installed

Need Help! The instructions show that the tabs are to be installed from the end of the chine in toward the engine -- my problem,I need to mount these about half way on the chine because my transducer would have to be moved the other way and it would then be 12 " from engine which would be too close I believe.would the tabs still be just as effective mounting them further out on the chime????? <br /><br />Thanks<br />Cool It-- Russell

If you can not put them near the chine them it is ok to relocate but understand that the maximum side to side stability will be when they are out as far as possible. That said, you do not have anyhting now which helps this side to side stability so you will see good results anyway.<br /><br />Not in on all Saterdays but I try to check in as much as possoble. <br />Have a good week end.

Thanks John<br /><br />Actually my chine is much larger than you describe in the manual so I can put them all the way out --but the chine is flat the V starts closer in so the tabs wont have the same downward angle toward the engine( not talking about the 25 degree angle -that will be fine --do you follow ?????

I do not have a picture at the moment --Thanks for your reply - I guess I wiil just put them out toward the ends. I was only trying to say that my chine is larger than that in the manaul so the tabs will just be at a slightly smaller angle __ sorry for the confusion I really dont know how else to explain this-- If I had a picture you would understand<br /><br />Thanks <br />Cool It

Took the first run today with smart tabs--- Great!! Very happy. I can finally run at moderate speed without the bow way up and just plowing through the water. also helped with side to side and it was rough out today they helped with sliding. really overall got through the rough chop much better Thanks Nauticus!!!!!!
