Im installing a new fishfinder and eventually smart tabs, my question is do I install the transducers outside of the trim tabs or in closer to the motor. I have a Lund Tyee II 16 foot boat.

Re: Smart Tabs & Transducers

My transducer is installed 11 1/2 inches inside the the the right edge of my left tab. The fact of the matter is that the xducer never worked better before I installed the smart tabs. It always grabbed air pockets and gave maximum depth readings. Now I get solid, consistant readings from my unit.

I dont think I have that much room. What distance does the transducer need to be away from the tabs?

My humminbird was to be located 15" or more from the prop

My transducer is also located 11 1/2 inches outboard from the centerline of my outdrive. In other words it is exactly half way between the right edge of my left trim tab and the center line of the o/d.

Thanks for the help. I am going to put my transducer outside of the tabs.
