Smartcraft System Monitor

I'm considering installing a Mercury Smartcraft SC1000 System Monitor. I'd really like to have someone's opinion on it before I buy it and try and install it myself. Anybody out there have any experience with this?

My only comment would be Dons has said every one he installled did work BUT was a PITA

i would think Don or Newport Dave could give you the best advise if you posted this in the I/O forum under smartcraft install

I installed one on my sportjet,very simple plug in install.Works great.Many functions depending on type engine.I use volts,waterpresure,enginetemp,hours,rpm,gph, and fuel used.Can add sensors for depth, speed and interface with gps .Sensors and cables are pricey,one I needed was about 85 bucks.
