what a dummy, a guy left his ski boat on a rocky shore on verry large lake overnight. this moorning it got verry windy. and his boat was tuned sideway with lots water splashing in over the side of it from the 3 foot waves.

well i guess something shorted from all water and bangin around, cause it started smoking. Then a minute or two later thier was 8 foot flames, and about 20 minutes later the volenteer fire department arived just in time to watch the gass tank go up

was kind a cool to watch. I saw it from start to finish, only took about half an hour. thiers not much left of boat, the inside was gutted compleatly and hole port side of hull was gone. thoes wood/fiber glass boats burn something woicked.

Re: smoke on the water

did you call the fire department or did you just sit back and laugh? I would have tried to help if it was me. I hope if my boat was having problems someone would try to help me out. If you just sat back and laughed that wasnt "verry" nice.

First thing i did was try to get help, but thier wasnt really much anyone could do about it.
between the time i got help and ran back to the boat it was ingulphed in flames.
I was ready to hop into my truck and race to town to get some one, but some one else had a cellphone handy. and got a hold of the fire department

this happend around 7am and the guy who owned the boat was still sleeping at the camp site, about a 1/4 mile up the road from where his boat was. i took to the task of looking fo the guy.
this campsite is in a fairly remote aria, about 500miles north of US/cananda border. no power, no phones, no nothing.
the Closest town was about 50km (30miles) up the higway so the fire department guys got thier in big hurry

id of tried yanking the boat up the shore, but it was too much boat for one person to man handle in thoes waves. No one else seemed to care untill it was on fire.
