I have a montgomary ward sea king 10 hp 1975' model#vwb-52110 that I just bought. The guy I bought it from assured me that he and his father have taken very good care of it and have mantianed it every year. It is in absalute mint condition and has not been used very much at all. It starts right up and runs awesomely. Now what I am wondering is, he said each year he "fogged"<br />the Carb ...I believe he said carb.... and when it runs there is a bit of white smoke that comes from engine. He says once I take it out and run full bore it will stop smokeing. Can anybody explian this to me or could the smoke be something bad?

Re: Smoke

fogging it means he put "fogging oil" into the carb to keep the engine from rusting inside. if it start and seems to run fine then run it a little while and see if it clears up. it should. as soon as the oil is burned off. if it is a 2 stroke it will smoke some because of the oil in the gas.
