Smoking Evinrude Choke Solenoid

I seemed to have let the magic smoke out of my electric choke solenoid today. With the ignition switch in the 'ON' position, the thing must have been doing something pretty wrong, cause it started smoking and melting along the top of the solenoid cylindar. I may have goofed, but I cut the two wires out of it so that I could continue to try to start my boat while I was at the lake.

So, anyone know where I can get a replacement electric choke solenoid for a 1975 85 HP Evinrude?

Thanks,
AP

Hey AP.....knowing that most boaters got a cheap streak, ya' might want to look around some boat yards or maybe ask a local dealership if they got a used one. A new one will set ya back about $109. Yep....that much. Hope ya' get lucky.

Thanks OBJ - is a new one going to have to come from a dealer too? Thought I might be able to get one on-line, but couldn't find any sites that carried them.
AP
