Looks like you've made a very good buy. Right now it's worth $200. -----lol

You said it needs an outdrive? Do you know what kind was in it or is it a matter of fixing the current one?

Never changed one.It is my second boat and the other boat is a outboard.Im going to keep an eye out and buy another old boat wit a six cylinder and a good outdrive. With the way things are going it should not be hard to pick one up.Ive never seen boats sell for so little

You should be able to find whatever you wish to put in it.

If it's an OMC stringer type outdrive [called so as it bolts to the stringers instead of the transom], you'd have to "shim" the outdrive hole so the other style drive will work.

Just take your time and find what you want for it. ;)

Did you check the stringers, floor and transom? My guess would be that they are all starting to rot if not completly mushy for a $200 boat. If you are spending money on it you should check it all out before hand and decide if its worth it or not. You don't want to put a new outdrive on it to have your foot moosh through the floor 2 weeks later and find out everything is rotted.

I don't know where you live, but here in the south, a boat that floats and has a decent interior goes for $500-750.00, and thats without a running engine.

But then again, I have no idea why the people around here think they are worth that much. The funny thing is, they'd rather let it sit in their yard and continue to rot away than sell them for less than that.

But to answer your question, its worth whatever you think its worth. If you like the lines of it, and want to keep it and restore it, then its worth whatever you feel comfortable putting into it.

Floor is in great shape transom is in great shape. The guy I got it from was a drunk and needed some beer money. No telling how much they had in the boat.
They bought it to restore a few years ago and beer was more important! If I didn't take it someone else would have.
