snap-in carpet rubber backing disintegrating

Bought a used boat that came with snap-out carpets. It needs a cleaning but the actual carpet is in pretty good shape however the rubber backing is falling apart and in some spots non-existent. Any way to fix this (even temporarily) or do I just need to have new carpets made up? I was thinking of trying that rubberized spray stuff that you see on tv. what do you guys think? thanks!

for $10 bucks a yard and use spray adhesive to stick it back on the carpet. It's closed cell foam so it WON'T absorb water.
Not sure what new carpet would cost!!!
