snapping yamaha cranks

Whats the deal with Yamaha cranks snapping at the top end. Is this from bad cranks? Did they solve the problem? I have 93 200HP who's crank snapped at the top end. Several parts places Iv'e been trying to get a new one from have said most of the cranks snap there!!!!!

There are two cranks for that engine. Yes there is a larger tapper on the top. Most Yamaha cranks I have seen snapped. Have had a ton of hours on them. If you are running a pot hauler on the top of the crankshaft. You need the larger style crank. Its like having a twenty pound frisbee with teeth When the crank breaks.
