Snow!!....hey, what is this stuff?

What the.....it's snowing out. I woke up this morning to find a few cm's (couple inches) of snow outside...and it's still snowing. I know there have been quite a few snow/weather threads but fortunately we have somewhat exempt.....apart from the usual rain. Our total snow days this year (apart from today's bit) has been 1-2 days...I think.
Geez, we were already getting into our spring until temperatures dipped yesterday. Well, all I'm saying is that....it better be gone by Saturday....I have plans!!

I hear ya'. We've had flurries in the Willamette Valley this morning and expecting up to 4" tonight. People are running out to buy bread and milk. Not sure what that's all about. Might be a voodoo like thing - bread and milk repel snow??

Well I just checked the snow depth stick I have and I am now back over 100 inches of snow on the ground again!

Just cleared out in front of the shop.....again. Snow thrower can't throw it as high as the pile is, but fortunately it was wet enough to stick to the side of the pile.

If I don't post for a day, send help to dig me out from my homemade avalanche.

That's as good an explanation as any. No matter where you are in the country, people load up on bread and milk before a snowstorm. Except me. I load up on beer.

I grew up in the midwest (DeWitt, IA) and have lived most of my life in the snowbelt so can really appreciate a place where it rains a lot but you don't have to shovel a bit of it!

Yeah, I had to laugh...it was just mayhem in town today...people scrambling to buy snow tires, etc. I think we have now have 10-15cm (5-6") on the ground now, and they are expecting more tonight. Geez, they closed some schools too.....definitely a different attitude towards snow than up north or back east.
I'm hoping its all gone by the end of the weekend....or sooner.

We are cold with about 2 cm's of snow. Lots of black ice.

Nah, the grocery store is 50 miles round trip. The only thing we load up is my plow on the front of the truck and point it out the driveway........ Heck, we grocery shop only once a week tops....

Sleet ,rain and snow here today . I am soooo sick of it ! I cleaned the boat at the wash the other day when it was 72.Now it is back to 23 and sleeting ,snowing,raining ! AHHHHHHHH !Glad I got the cover back on last night !I love the water just not when its falling from the sky !

We have a weather warning here and forecasts are for about 8-10" and high winds.....I guess winter is not over yet.

They're predicting 5"-10" (12.7-25.4cm) of snow here in northern Indiana tonight.......I hate winter.....the kids have only had one full day of school this week, 2hr delay for ice this morning....my guess is they'll be off again tomorrow. At this rate they'll be in school until July!

We're supposed to get between 4" and 7" tonight/tomorrow. Just had a big snowfall last week. If we get the 7" it will probably break the February record and 7" would take us to 61" for the season either a new record or close to one.

The bright side of all this snow is higher lake levels for the Great Lakes come spring. Let it snow.

1-2" tonight and 7-11" tomorrow...... after reading that I just closed the NOAA website ........ why I even bother to look is beyond me.....like seeing a train wreck...... you know you are going to look

Well we now have to take two steps down to get to the porch and three steps up to get to the path to the garage, then I have to take 4 steps down to get into the garage....hmmm, seems to be getting a bit deep around my parts, now up to 118" on the snow gauge, that is 118" on the ground, not including the warming that we have lost snow...I am thinking about heading for the coast(shore)



And on top of it, we are at 9 below right now, with a 25 mph steady gale, I think finally I am ready to admit, I am getting to old for this!
