Cause: I was running around 18mph and hit bottom really hard out on the flats.

Problem: The motor was in Perfect condition until i hit the flats. The next 2 times I brought the boat out onto the water...no problems really...I few weird jerks and jumps from the motor why running it.. But thats it....

The 3rd time, At full throttle....not going fast at all....rpms were acting up, and it would seem that it wouldnt go into gear.
-I was able to get it up to full speed by revving it up real fast from the start, and you could hear the motor switching(jerking) into gear and changing rpms....But it seems that Something inside is chipped, worn, needs replacing.

Rule out: Prop is not spun. Water pump, carb, fuel lines all A+. no problems. Fuel pump works (i did the blow check :), the compression reads 90 for each cylinder after 3 pulls.

So, If the motor is having trouble getting into gear, that means something internal is broken.,.. Where should I look for this problem... Thankyou

I know for a fact the shaft is straight, and prop is at its right balance, with the gear case, would that be in the lower unit?

It is everything in front of the prop and it sure sounds like you better get to it. Here is a site that will be helpful to you. Best of luck. Rick.

Im going to attempt to take the gear case apart and inspect the lower house. The rod down there may be bent, or something else may be an issue. Anyone with any tips for this process would be amazing!

Loosen the screws that holds the gearcase almost out, and let it down,
Look in between the leg and gearcase, find the shift rod brass coupler with 2 screws, take COMPLETELY out at least one screw.
Take down the gear case.
Go to:
http://boats.net
and look up the parts catalog for your motor.
The scematic will give quite a good picture of the internals.
However I would recomend to buy an OEM repair manual.
Try e-Bay, marineengine.com.

COol, I have a manuel, got that covered. Should I watch out for the gear oil falling out as well?

Might be smart to drain the gear oil before removing prop shaft housing.
