put the boat in the water today and there's a leak. Small.... but still a leak. I think it's in the exhaust bellows because 1. it was the hardest to do, 2. after taking the outdrive off the u-joint bellows didn't seem to have any water in it 3. after taking the outdrive off the exhaust bellows was wet. But to add to (3) I put the boat on the muffs and ran it for a good while, so that may have been why the exhaust bellows was wet.

To say the least, I'm bummed. I'm not doing that job myself again, it's too hard and too critical. Now I have to find someone to fix my "work".

exhaust bellow will be wet. has water from exhaust going thew it. did you check the shifter cable and boot. direct route for water in boat.

Back the boat down in the water and look for a leak. There are lots of places that could leak, until you ID where the leak is, it's hard to say what needs done to fix it.

I know I need to locate the leak. I'm going to back it into the water today and look around with a flashlight and mirror to see if I can find the source. I spent most of the day on the bellows, super frustrating.

Did you notice if it took on any water while it was running on the muffs? I was having a water leak problem with mine while running on muffs, so I knew it wasn't anything to do with the bellows. Turned out to be a problem somewhere with the gaskets I used when putting the drive back on. Water was coming from the gimbal bearing area inside the boat. Just something to look out for...

pretty sure it had to be in the water to show the leak. i launched it and it didn't show the leak until i lowered the outdrive.
