ok, let me start by saying hello and thanks for all the other people that post up there project's, i enjoy looking at them and getting ideal's for my project...well this is actually my first real complete boat rebuild project so hopefully it come's out good.
this is what it is...
i bought this boat from this guy i know, he had it for years and at one time it was nice...when i bought it the floor was like a sponge. it had a 60hp evinrude 89' on it and was on a trailer..i could have taken the boat out on the water if i was stupid...the engine needs a new trim/tilt motor and some wiring done cause the power packs wern't working unless you pushed on it. not good. so back to the boat it's 14'6'' the name is tuffy but im getting a new title for it when im finished as homemade...after i bought the boat my buddy charley and i tore it apart..hopeing i could just replace the floor, but when we riped it out i noticed that there were no stringer's execpt for one down the middle???? i said that's not good, although there were about 10 2x4's going from side to side to support the floor, we ripped out all the 2x4's and found lot's of holes where water was coming in. we flipped the boat over and i had charley start fiberglass'in...it was his first time doning glass work..well come to find out he's not that good as after 3-4 day's the resin is still sticky and there's air bubbles in it.tick-tick..so i pulled him off the glass job's and put him to sanding...he can do that a lilttle better...i cant really complain cause he is a good friend and does work for the fun of it...the center consol has too many hole in it so we patched them all and im going to make the cutout's later on..i have a brother-in-law and he has his own business installing window's door's and all the other good thing's for houses and he's alway's working with wood and he's damn good at constructing and makin things very strong and sturdy so i asked him if he'd like to be a part of the project..he jumped right on it and he's loving it just as much as me and charley...his job is to fab all the wood for the stringers,floor,deck,and anything else, charley's job is to sand,prep for glass work and just help-out with whatever, and i do all the glass, paint, and all the supply buying as it's my boat..here are some pictures, i only have 2 of the boat when i bought it and the rest are of us in progress on the project 1.
