Soft spots / rotting repair

Well I got my outdrive off today and started poking around in the holes there where the bolts go through the transom, and I noticed that in the plywood that is sandwiched between the outter hull and the inner layer of fiberglass, that there is quite a bit of rot in the areas immediately around the bolt holes. Is there a cure/repair for this? I figure I can cut out sections and replace them but how do I stop the rot from going any further than it is? Is there something called "stop rot" that I can apply to stop the rot at the edges, or maybe that you can fill in the rotten area and let it harden? I am looking for any advice on this. Thanks!

Re: Soft spots / rotting repair

There are a couple of products which can repair this. (Git rot, penetraring epoxy) I had the same problem, so I decided to remove all the wood inside the transom and replace it with Seacast-pourable transom. Seacast will last forever, and there is no need to worry about rotting wood anymore. Good luck!!
