I keep my boat in a slip all summer. Iwant to make sure the battery is fully charged when I arrive on the weekends. I disconnect every thing with the exception the bilge pump when I leave.
I am looking for a cheap 1 1/2 amp solar charger.Do they work? Will they fry the battery? Does anyone use one?
Thanks, Dead Eye

Re: Solar Chargers

1.5 amp chargers don't come cheap. If you're looking at one of those little ones that plugs into a cigarette lighter, they're about 0.15 amps. If you actually are looking at a 1.5 amp charger, yes, it will be bad for the battery to be on continuously. A 150ma charger will be good to leave on at all times and keep the battery full.

Re: Solar Chargers

Mine works great, but like the man said, do not give a continious charge.
