I just got my boat back from the delaer, had a new 2stroke 225 Suzuki installed, it has a 14-3/4x20" prop, havent had to WOT yet due to break in, but just wondering if this is a good brand or not? thanks and happy boating.

Re: Solas Props?

Solas is a good all-around prop and should perform well.....Like any prop, some are better suited to particular applications.
Making sure the engine will turn into the upper range of your max recommended RPM range will be more important.

Re: Solas Props?

Motor is recomended for 5000 to 5600, I want to get at least 3 hours on the motor before I bring it up to WOT, but will do for only a minute, just want to make sure its proped right, ya know?

Re: Solas Props?

I run a stainless steel Solas prop and have been very pleased with its performance on my Boston Whaler.

I haven't been able to verify this as of yet but a reliable source told me just the other day that Solas was the manufacturer of Suzuki props.
JD
