Sold my boat!

About two weeks ago I put my 2002 Key West up for sale. Used craigslist and other forums. A friend actually sent me the buyer. We closed the deal tonight. Great timing! The boat was awesome..very clean and only 117 hrs. Everything was intact and several new items. Fresh detail.
So...we are moving up to a 23-24' Walkaround. Now the hunt begins!

Congratulations!, I want to sell mine and buy a small 26-28 cruiser but figure the market for selling boats is not very good. Though the market for buying is great. How did you do on sales price versus blue book (no dollar value, just under, even, over kind of thing)?

Re: Sold my boat!

NADA said it was worth about $12k...however a low hour boat in exceptional condition could be worth more. So I asked more!

Good. My 2005 has 67 hours on it. I plan on changing that over the next two weeks. Lake Mead is a calling!

Hopefully you will do well. Glastron makes a great hull and the 5.7 & Volvo is by far the best I/O out there, IMHO. Also, Lake Meade should provide a big audience to garner interest. Just get the word out and do a lot of craigslistings.
Also, AnglersEdgeMarine and Bob Filger have a really good sales program. PM me and I can get you some more info..

Congrats Rick! I know you've been wanting that bigger boat and now that the hunt is on, you'll find it soon.

"Looking at GW's rick?"

Well. I know they are one of the best built and safest boats out there. However, I can afford a newer boat, but not a newer boat and truck. My '04 Tundra will safely tow 6500# on a trailer with brakes, so that takes some of the boats out of the equation. Unfortunately, all the Grady's in the size I want. But, I had a really good year with our Key West. I have found several already that will work. Also Sea Hunt, Scout and Robalo all make a lighter weight composite hull. They are out there. I just have to find the right combination that will work for us. I have some financing already lined up, as I will only be financing 50% of the cost. I am looking at boats listed around $26 - 28K. I have had one dealer tell me Sea Hunt has some summer specials and I could get into a new boat. We will see. I am not about to sign a ten year note. I may start a new thread on my adventure in buying and what I find. I have friends with boats that I have had out often over the past year, so I have boats to get out and fish on. I won't rush this.
And how about yourself, Sam...what's up next for you??

Re: Sold my boat!

yeah I caught the rest of the other thread after I posted that. I'm kinda/sorta thinking about bay boats, flats boats are great but limiting but I don't need/want anything too big. I really like the Shearwaters but dang I've got two girls in college so that ain't gonna happen.

I looked at a 21' Robala a few years go, I liked it, are they even still in production?
