on the solenoid there is a thicker red wire ...also there R 2 lose thin red wires..... do the 2 lose red wires connect with the thicker red wire on same terminal or do the 2 red thin wires connect with the black. It has been a week since they have been lose and just do not remember.

Thank you for any help.... much appreciated

Re: Solenoid

Don't have a clue what motor you are talking about. Not only that, those colors don't make sense. Are they cobbled-up wiring or something?

Anyway, "nomal" hookup for a solenoid is a heavy red cable from the Battery + goes to one of the big nuts on the solenoid. Another heavy cable goes from the other big nut, to the starter. A smaller wire also connects to the big nut with the heavy cable from the battery, and goes to a fuse, then to the ignition switch "B" terminal. A wire comes from the ignition switch "S" terminal and goes to one of the small nuts on the solenoid (it may go through a neutral start switch first). Another small wire comes from the other small terminal on the solenoid and goes either to ground, or to a safety switch, which provides the ground.
