Im having problems getting info about a solo out board.id like to put in new points&coil. can't find out where to get parts and most people ive talk to dont or havent heard of this moter.its a solo 40 mod model 840 ???

I just bought a solo 40 at an auction for $10, and am looking for similar info. It looks very clean but the fuel line's leaking/rotten, so I have to wait until the parts store is open tomorrow to replace it and see how it runs. Plug look good, and I was told it was a good runner.<br /><br />Also told it's a west German motor.<br /><br />How about if either of us finds anything out, we e-mail the other? sftcatfish@yahoo.com.<br /><br />Thanks.

Hello guys, I found very good offer on brand new 6 HP. Solo outboard, BUT!!! I've no information at all about this motor. I tryed to contact with SOLO-GERMANY and SOLO-USA and have nothing <br />They just ignored all my requests. So guys, any advices, should I go for it oro better to buy known brand with out any hassels.<br /><br />Thanks in advance <br />Serge

Buy a name brand as parts will be readily available when you need them. As you can see, it's next to impossible to find anything out about the solo motors, little alone parts.<br /><br /> www.solo-germany.com
