SOLVED -Yamaha 3.5AC 1980 no spark-

I bought an Yamaha 3.5AC -1980 as an emergency backup for my Yamaha 28AE. I need some basic information for this engine and quite some guidance to get it working. It doesn't start.

There is no spark (I earthed the spark plug and saw no spark)

?which spark plug should be there - and what gap should it have
?how do I check (and adjust) the contact breaker gap (settings)
-the contact doesn't seem to open ...
?can interchange the ignition coil assembly of an YAMAHA 28AE to test the spark plug cable / can I test it another way?
?if cable and coil are OK - what should be the next step? (condenser/magneto ... )

The first thing I would check is the stop button ,they go bad.Disconnect any stop buttons and safty lanyard ,then check for spark

I just tried it and unfortunately it doesn't make a difference.

i did measured the ignition point opening (it does open) 0,023mm

there is definitely no spark
my best bet is to buy a new contact breaker. Condensers don't seem to fail often. (bike engines)

Do I need to buy a flywheel puller for this particular engine, or can I use a generic one?

It is runner!!!

I cleaned the points -sanded them / wipped of with aceton- and now it runs... it even pushes our boat (!).

Hi I have just bought a Yamaha 3.5AC brand new 20 odd years old. A guy bought it to take it to his house in France and never did. So its only ever been tank run once.
Any way I can't get the old girl to start. Cleaned carb new fuel etc. But there's no spark changed plug checked coil.

Where is the breaker you mentioned?
Any other ideas ?
