Hi all, my project for this year: To repaint the top deck and non skid on my 20ft Proline CC. You can see my progress here:

I am looking for some advice from you guys. Take a look at the pics below, I am seeing if anyone has any ideas of what to do with this space. I want to trim it, cover it up, whatever. I was hoping maybe someone here has come by this before and has some ideas. I am at a loss. The angles make it not so easy to just trim out. As for covering the opening, I am leaning towards a small sheet of rubber, through bolted on the inside (top) so it kind of "flaps" down.

Thanks in advance!

i would go buy some flexible 1/2-3/8 pvc hose, split it and run it around the edges to trim it out, and cut down on fiberglass scrapes. then you could take a piece of 1/4x1 1/2 lattace, wrap a piece of vinyl around it. then thru bolt it to the top. the lattace is flexible enough to make the bend. you might want to put some drapery weights on the bottom of the vinyl, and a couple of magnets, mounted on the inside, so it doesn't flap in the wind. easy solution.

Great idea, thanks! Will Lattice be strong enough, or did you mean basically something that small that will bend?

Thanks again, appreciate it.

wrap the vinyl around the lattice, and staple or tack it. then side it in use some clamps, to hold it in place. thru drill 4 -6 SS carrage bolts, use washers and nuts on back side. should work great, i did it to hide gas tanks.

Hi Scuda, I had an idea re: that front locker. You could scribe a couple pieces of wood on the backside to fit the top and bottom curve and rip flat on the front and then bevel two more for the sides so that you have a flat opening for a flat hinged door.

I always liked your boat, the teak is going to look great. I had a little teak on my last boat and found that Snoseal brand beeswax paste (for leather) made a great finish on it because it never dried out and just wiping it with a cloth made it shine right up. Maybe try a little on a piece of scrap.

How fast does that boat go with the Johnson?

Calico, when you say:

You could scribe a couple pieces of wood on the backside to fit the top and bottom curve and rip flat on the front and then bevel two more for the sides so that you have a flat opening for a flat hinged door.

Could you elaborate a little?

I was thinking about that too, a little work involved with that. I may wait a bit, get the deck painted, etc. but like the way you think.

Thanks!
