We recently purchased a 1802 ( 2004) trophy. The cuddy step bilge had some water in it, there was also some moisture in the mid storage section. There is also an odor in the cuddy-can't decide if it is bildge smell, mold smell or exhaust fumes( though the engine hasn't been run while sitting for weeks). It is fairly strong. I HATE to hear one must tolerate the water in the cuddy. I have read many of these posts - many are drilling holes etc. I called trophy -US Marine and spoke to a guy who stated that this particular boat has a bow down attitude. When water from the deck goes down the scuppers in the rear- if the boat is in more of a bow down position on the water- the water will flow up an over into the mid section. The best remedy is to add some tubing on the inside directing the water down toward the rear bilge. How does this sound? I am curious how you guys are discovering you have water mid section. Also at the bottom of the bilge there are 2 openings ( one on each side)- are these drains to the outside. We don't see anything coming out - should we worry about them being clogged- how would one clear them.? Sooo many questions-. I have to say my biggest concern is that we have water midsection and it is stinking up the cuddy...possible???
I have attached a hose to the fish box drain hole and water poured out well into the bilge. Is there something I am just not understanding?? Thanks!
