I find it annoying that people tend to skip over new postings, I do this, but I myself am not a seasoned boater which makes me relatively unqualified for a response because Im not educated on the subject, but even more annoying is that some of these same people would rather argue pointless things like wether quoting people or not is offensive & redundant(seems to me its a good idea considering some of these topics and questions have sub-topics and questions and giving a response to a ? usually would require some sort of pre-quote to let them know what question their talking about) or maybe some of the site members like to pretend its high school and only respond to the people they know and not offer their much needed feedback to those of us that are new and really need it. the reason were all here is to share idea's and info but i guess it's only to those that are in your "cliq" sorry if this is venting but i offer replies on anything I feel i can help with. hope I don't alienate myself on this site but it's frustrating seeing people spend so much energy on stupid pointless things

Danimal....I don't really think people intentionally diregard some people's questions, in fact I think that the people with the most knowledge on this site are the ones who help the most and actually enjoy helping people who are new to boating and don't understand things. If a person's question goes unanswered it is most likely due to people not seeing it, which happens from time to time, it has happenend to me. If a person does not get a response all they need to do is keep bumping it up and eventually someone will see it and answer or help out as much as they can. People do argue about useless things sometimes here, but that is all part of this site, people can discuss whatever they want and sometimes you actually learn from the arguments. If you ever really need help, you will get it on this site, people here have helped me out on alot of things and always answered my technical questions as well as my stupid ones. Enjoy the site.

Danimal1706,

I am a frequent poster. The only reason that I would not respond is because I do not have anything to add, that is useful. Or, I simply do not know.

As of late, I also tend to stay away from "opinion" matters.

Hi, Danimal.

I don't think anyone here skips over new posts if they have something to offer.

Actually there are some questions that are not as welcome as others.

Questions that duplicate questions already posted on one or more other forums, like your Hydrofoil question, for example.

Questions that require ESP to know what engine, etc the poster is asking about, what his problem is, what he has done, what he learned from it.

Questions that have nothing to do with the topic of the forum they are in. Like this one, for example. This is a chat thread on an outboard discussion forum.

I bypass questions if I have nothing to offer.

I haven't noticed any posts of yours that have been ignored or bypassed, but if you will bump them to the top you will eventiually get replies, even if it just to reassure you that someone will come along who has an answer.

Moving this to Dockside Chat.

Good luck. :)
