Greetings folks,
You know I logged on today to check a few things and then to come in here and check a few posts and after seeing what has happened I am at a loss for words... I still don't know what to think about a few of you people in here. Some of you appear to be REALLY paranoid, some automatically make assumptions before they get the facts and are totally off base about the real truth, some are just.... I don't know. Yet there were a few decent people that replied and were honest one way or another.
You know what here is the deal... First off I have been a member of Iboats since 2008 and have had a decent experience so far until I started a thread about something I recently discovered and have taken a serious interest in and asked for opinions on. And now today after logging in and seeing what a few of you have said I still don't really know what to think of all of this. I like this product and will use it regardless of what has been stated. I wanted opinions both positive and negative.
Now how about if I had just bought me a nice old Evinrude and it was my first Evinrude and it ran great and I just thought that engine was fantastic and had great power and ran smooth and what ever else.... I would say what a great company Evinrude was and so fourth. What kind of response would I have gotten from that? Would you think I was working for BRP and trying to win over some new customers? Or would you think I was trying to "Spam" you with Evinrude propaganda?
You guys really have me bewildered. I just can't believe how some of you acted in there and really how you think I may be a what dealer someone said or a spammer? What is going through your heads in here? Just because someone really likes a product and promotes it you think he is a salesman? A new dealer? Come on people how paranoid can you be? Sorry I just can't get over what a few of you said.
You know this is America and we do have freedom of speech and everyone is entitled to speak freely and give an opinion whether you agree or disagree it still is that persons right to speak. I knew I would get some negative replies in here and also some positive but some of you guys are out there. I mean this is a discussion board isn't it? People have discussions and or debates and not all agree and some disagree and that is what this is here for is to discuss our favorite hobby. Not all will agree with what everyone has to say but the person still deserves to speak his mind.
Oh yeah I also just got my first Mercury outboard the other day and I think it's going to be a real screamer out in the water..... So now am I a Mercury dealer trying to get some sales? I almost feel like i am among teenagers in here or younger from the way some acted in here. I post a topic and take a few days away from the PC and then I come back to see what all is said and now the thread is closed??? I surely didn't expect this and frankly don't know why someone closed it. Whats the deal with closing a thread that you didn't start???
Now if someone gets out of line or way off topic thats one thing but I was asking for input and results and stories about a certain brand of oil and you guys get a little bent and close the thread before I can get back to see what all was being said? What kind of discussion board is this? Seems kinda rude to me and also folks making assumptions need to directly ask a person a question before you go spouting off about what you THINK. Sorry but thats just poor judgement and uncalled for. Nobody should post anything about another person unless they have their facts beforehand.
So with that being said I spoke what I came to say. Once again I will say I think this Amsoil will be a great product to use in my outboards and I will reap the benefits of it. Some of you will not use and and well thats your decision and maybe your loss. You know it may be my loss of an engine some of you say but I think the possibility of that happening is slim to none.
So thanks to you that replied in a normal sense I appreciate it. And to you who thought I was someone else that I am not and made assumptions.... well you know probably how I feel about it... I am a 47 year old man probably just like a lot of you but the difference in me is I don't make assumptions or false accusations. I get my facts straight before I make my speech or remark as not to offend anyone as it is the polite or mature thing to do.
Happy boating,
Nick
