Last year. Pulled the boat up to shore. I was in a hurry so I pulled the boat up on shore a little bit and went up to the cabin as the wind picked up.
A little while later I come down to see my boat with about $700 worth of tackle gone. After getting out on the dock, I see that the boat was blown off shore and was down in a swampy area of the lake.
My wife and son offer to go with the car to that end of the lake and get the boat. Of course I know better and tell them I will get it. I hurry up, get into the fiberglass canoe and start on my way.
Well, I am not the smallest of people and the canoe is not the heftiest of canoes. I get about 40 yards away and boom, I sink. My zeal paddling put the back of the canoe under the water. While I swim the sunken canoe back to the place I lauched from, I see my son climbing through the swampy area and getting into the boat with no problem. I didn't listen to them and they didn't listen to me. Of course who was right as usual? Yep my wife. You figure after 18 years I would learn by now.
