In another thread I learned that M/W would reverse the first two digits of the SN to 'hide' the year of manufacture. Apparently that holds true for only certain manufacturers.
Just picked this up today: Advertised as "70's" <--I think not!
Model: K750 3107D
SN: 996009
Type: XTV52207
To my eye it looks like a Clinton air-cooled powerhead - based on the rewind assy. I think Clinton preceded Chrysler in supplying M/W. 3-blade prop and F/N shift. A note taped inside the top cover says the fuel mix should be 40:1.
Any & all info welcome.
