UN renews mandate for Iraq troops

Iraq says foreign troops are indispensable at the moment
The 15-member United Nations Security Council has unanimously voted to extend the mandate of the multinational force in Iraq until the end of next year.
The move was requested by the Iraqi government, which said the troops were needed for a further year while it built up its own security forces.

Now how can a good Democrat argue with the UN?... did you get the unanimously thing?

Seems W had it right all along...

UN Troops just sit around and get overrun. They seldom accomplish anything. They either get chased off or the US rescues them.

Don't think you can show any examples where that is not the case.

You all seemed to miss the point. The US is part of a UN sanctioned mission in Iraq.... The UN has extended that mission for another year.

Take it from there.

Maybe people are just not buying your attempt to sugar coat the steaming turd called Iraq you and your beloved W created.
What other choice do they have?
After a decade of sanctions crippled the country, W and pals destroyed the country. Too bad they didn't have a plan about what to do once the infrastructure was demolished and all civillian and military authority had been abolished. If they had protected all the weapon depots and caches that were there, that might have helped. I still wonder about that 2-300 tons of high explosives that dissapeared under the noses of the occupying forces.
After almost 4 years of unfettered war you wingers have waged, using the supposed best army on earth against a bunch of dead enders still living in mud huts, what have you got to show for it? Where's Osama?

Well if you left wingers wouldn't cry up a storm everytime there is colateral damge or a mosque is blown up, we would have ended long ago. We are trying to fight this war the PC style and it just doesn't work. How did we defeat Germany and Japan? It was by killing them, no matter what the world thought. It's time to use the military they way it was designed. They are not "peace keepers" or police. They are fighting men and women. Get off their backs lefties and stop your crying about human rights and don't kill anyone except the bad guy. Let's win the war in Iraq!! You can't fight or win a war taking out the bad guy one at a time.
