I have a 1992 Force 120HP and the sound deading insulation which was glued to the interior of the cowling has disintegrated. What can I use as a substitute since the engine noise is extremely loud now.

Re: Sound deading material

Also very interested as most of our old motors have foam that is peeling away.

I'd be interested in knowing if there is a material that works better than the OEM foam that was used to reduce noise even more than the OEM foam did.

You might consider that mylar-based "bubble wrap" insulation. That should reduce sound. The other choice is the foil faced foam used on heating ducts.
