Source for rubber grommets and/or u-channel?

The grommets or u-channels that cover the edges of the holes in the side walls and splash well of my boat through which the wiring, fuel line, and steering pass are all shot. There are some sort of odd sizes including round 1 1/2" and 2 7/16", plus two oblong holes 4 1/8" x 2 1/1". The sheet metal is 1/16" aluminum.

I doubt that I'll be able to find grommets for the oblong holes and may need to use a rubber u-channel cut to fit instead. Does anyone know of a good source for this kind of stuff? Thanks!

There are tons of places on line to buy them....I use alot of rubber gromments in my line of work (electrical field). The oblong holes will use an oversized regular grommet as it will comform to the shape of the hole. I get them from Grangier, Local Hardwares, Lowes, or order on line.....

Search the iboats store for "grommet" or "motor well boot" and you'll get a nice selection.

Actually, I didn't find anything suitable in the iBoats store. I guess it's not impossible that one of the grommets they list for specific uses on the various outboards might work for one of the holes, but that's a very tedious way to shop for this type of part. No offense to iboats. They would need too wide a size selection to make it feasible, I think.

Unfortunately, none of those items will fit the size holes that I have. Maybe one of them could for one of the four holes, but it looks pretty iffy.

Thanks for the links, though.

Your ideas are simply great! If you are looking for a desk wire management grommet, a rubber grommet or a brush grommet are the right place perfect choice.

I've had luck with McMaster Carr. The saying goes that if they don't carry it, it don't exist. I picked up some black vinyl trim that I used to line large holes and my hatch.

Ayuh,.... For the larger oblong holes, take a piece of rubber hose, cut it to length, 'n slit it down it's backside of it's pitch, 'n work it onto the edge of the openin'....

I use 1/2" radiator hose, to insulate hyd. lines on heavy equipment all the time...
