Source for Special Tools

Long time boat owner, first time outdrive owner. Is Mercury the only source for the special tools for servicing the outdrive, power steering, power trim, or are their other (maybe cheeper) suppliers? I have no known problems, but the boat is 22 years old...

It depends on what tools you really need and what you are doing. Sierra sells some outdrive tools (not all). Many times a special tool is not needed.
Best thing to do is when you have a problem and it says to use a special tool is to ask here if there is an alternative.
