Source of info for lake maps?

I have lake maps from "fish n go" and others that have depth soundings, etc., but do not contain GPS coordinates (inland freshwater lakes).<br /><br />I am presuming that these companies do not go to each lake and perform soundings, to create these maps, but instead get them from a government, or other mapping source.<br /><br />Anyone know of a government(s), or other source, to get sounding lake maps with GPS coordinates, printed or electronic?<br /><br />Thanks
