Does anyone have a source for inexpensive marine butt connectors online? The ones with adhesive lined heat shrink?

Use regular butt connectors then cover them with liquid tape. That would be enough but if you want to go further you can add heat shrink to cover them even more.

Isn't there a Lowe's in Georgia? Lowe's actually has a good stock of marine grade wire and butt connectors, and you probably won't find a better price.

Try your local NAPA store. They carry butt connectors with the heat shrink (with sealer) around the crimp connector.

When subsituting for "marine" crimp connectors, bring a magnet with you. You want tinned copper alloy crimp connectors, not the plated steel ones which will rust very quickly. The magnet will tell the difference.

Being a mechanic, I have access to them through suppliers. However, as with most other things, I figured that you could find them in bulk cheaper through the internet.

I'm up for a group buy if you can find a big enough discount on a large quantity. Myself and my boss have been looking for some. one car stereo install and you eat up a dozen of the things.

i went to lowes and they did have butt connectors that you melt with cig. lighter.so i bought some thanks for the tip.i went to a air bag class and the guy had some you crimp and then melt them those had glue in them i could not pull them apart that glue should allow no moisture for corrosion.thats great for marine stuff.

mouser.com carries Molex "Perma-seal" butt connectors, rings, etc and they give you a good idea of volume prices. A #10-#12 butt splice is .56c each, .45/100 or .38/1000. These are the ones you heat that have glue in them.<br />AMP "Pre-Insulated Terminals" is another.

Phantoms I recently searched and searched for the connectors myself and finally ordered 40 asst. sizes of them from JC Whitney for about $20 I think. Then I happened to be in Wal-Mart the other day and seen that they carry them there as well.
