Hi all,

I know some folks have been looking for sources of Pennzoil Synthetic- so here is what I have found.

In my new Nissan 50 hp TLDI, I will be running Pennzoil 100% Synthetic. The reason I went this route instead of Nissan/ Tohatsu's Synthetic is because of local availability.

Last week, I was able to purchase a new supply of Pennzoil Synthetic at Walmart in Sheridan, Wyoming. They had a ton of it, so I am assuming that Walmart is carrying it again. It is certainly possible that it is leftover from last year, but it did have the newest style labels on the gallon jugs of oil. So that led me to believe that it was a new supply.

Also, today I saw that Overton's in their latest master catalog is again carrying Pennzoil 100% Synthetic for $24.99/ gallon or $6.99/ quart. It can be ordered through http://www.overtons.com

I had planned to use Klotz Synthetic or the new Amsoil for DFI 2 strokes in my Nissan, but could not find it locally and would have to pay shipping if I ordered it. So, I ended up with more cases of Pennzoil- which is fine with me... :)

Re: Sources for Pennzoil 100% Synthetic

Wal-Mart was carrying the synthetic blend, have never seen 100% synthetic there. I will have to check because I am about out of oil execept for about 1 gal on baord the boat.
I have used Klotz in Motorcycles and chain saws, it is spendy also.

Re: Sources for Pennzoil 100% Synthetic

Walmart carried Pennzoil 100% Synthetic last year and it started to dissappear here around mid summer. They have always carried the Synthetic Blend. I have had good luck with both.

I have used Klotz Synthetic (as well as Amsoil) in my snowmobiles for several years and have had great luck with it even with power valves. It is a great lubricant, has a great smell, does not seem to carbon up the spark plugs BUT, it is really expensive. It is almost as expensive as Red Line oil...

So, for those that are using the Pennzoil 100% Synthetic, it seems to finally be easier to get. Ever since last summer when Walmarts around here quit carrying it, I had a tough time getting it.

$6.99 a quart for Pennzoil?? Geez...Amsoil isn't sounding that expensive anymore.

God! I'm starting to sound like LubeDude! :)

Re: Sources for Pennzoil 100% Synthetic

I get penz 100% synthetic at walmart also...whenever its too inconvenient to buy the sweet smelling Mobil 1 synthetic. Mobil 1 is 3.99 for ea. half quart. Penz is just a little cheaper. The synthetic has proven itself to me in dirtbikes that don't get rebuilt after each season. Actually the Mobil 1 can be confusing since its clear. A friend of mine wasted his 4 wheeler motor when he put unmixed gas in. Its nice to have a clean burning outboard that doesnt leave an oil slick when it idles or stink up the air 50 ft behind the boat while skiing.
