Going to visit a friend in Mt Pleasant, SC in two weeks. I wanted to bring my Surf setup. I see bass isn't in season. What can I expect to catch if any? What tackle to bring? He's in the CG so I'm sure he can ask around but I would rather know ahead of time. Also any open party boats that are known to be good and what is in season. I don't want to spend the time and money for an offshore trip.

Thanks

Re: South Carolina surf fishing.

Maybe use a double hook surf/pier rig with about a 1 or 2 ounce pyramid weight, for bait, shrimp, finger mullet, fiddlers, cut bait, blue crabs, squid. Catch Whiting, Catfish, Sand Sharks, Trout, Flounder,Red Fish(Spottail Bass), others?....bring beach chair, umbrella, rod holders, cooler, etc., pretty hard to beat! It's probably gonna be hot!...cold drinks! Good Luck!
