So I have been searching for a new windshield for my Sea Chaser 175. Thought it would be easy (Ebay, Dusky etc.). Could not find one. Also wanted a clear windshield for better vision at night. Well, a piece of clear lexan from Lowes, a blade and a grinder, and some nuts/bolts is what I ended up with. Used the old windshield side pieces for support.

Don't laugh too hard....... it works :) The line in the windshield is a reflection, not a crack.

Looks good, and a lot cheaper than what you would have purchased pre-made. If the sides ever break, you can bend lexan or if you do not have the skill, a glass shop can do it for you.

I have plexiglass mounted in a pressure treated 2x4 frame, with a strip of copper along the bottom to make a drink holder for about 10 beers.

Re: Southern Engineer windshield

Thanks. I have been researching youtube on bending. Seems like an old hair dryer, a few pieces of wood and foil, and some practice and I will get it. When I get good enough I am going to bend a complete windshield. Getting ready to add a small L-angle piece of aluminum to the top for structure, and I will drill some holes in it for sunglasses, hooks/Lures etc. Total cost was $25 compared to $90 for a new one.
