We have been here for a week or so. What a blast it is exploring the lake when the wind isn't blowing to hard. Here are some photos.

Re: Southern Lake Powell

Oh I am so jealous. My wife got laid off so I was planning an extended camping trip to Lake Powell this month. While we feel fortunate she found a job right away it did eliminate the road trip. Bummer. Nice to see some pics. Post some more! Maybe not a full blog, but how about recommending a couple of favorite spots?

Re: Southern Lake Powell

I boat at Powell 4-5 times every year and have done for over 30 years now. Great places to boat/camp/etc from end to end it kind of depends on where you are dropping in at. For mid lake(Bullfrog/halls) or southern end I have always enjoyed the San Juan river arm 50 plus miles of awesome lake to be had in that canyon alone. October is a GREAT time to go air and water temps still good and no crowds at all. Escalante is a great canyon as well, obviously rainbow is always a favorite as are all the surrounding areas of the rainbow area. Don't discount the upper end of the lake though good hope bay is very nice, gunsight butte is neat, Knowlles, Forgotten, Moqui, are all great canyons with good camping and prime spots to be easily had this time of year. Hope you make it down....
