All,

I get several questions a week in my inbox in regards to using Coosa board for decking and Nidabond for stringers as I went the total composite replacement route. Probably the most common question I get is in regards to pricing and availability, and whether or not it is "worth it" (it was to me).

Well, a friend of mine was replacing the deck and stringers on his boat and came across a similar (or almost identical) product as the Coosa board for half-price. Even better, he ended up getting a few "cosmetically blemished sheets" for $50/each, which makes it much cheaper than plywood (especially considering that it uses less glass/resin). NO, I DO NOT WORK FOR OR ENDORSE THIS COMPANY. I have only seen the material and it seems to be identical to Coosa. Their website lists the uses for it which includes marine decking, transoms and stringers. Their website can be found here: http://spaceagesynthetics.com/.

Just thought I would pass this along as it may be a more attractive alternative for those here. I did a search and it appears several people here have tried it, yet not posted results. Personally, I hope I never get to use this product as I am done with boat repairs!
