I have purchased two new SS Props for use on our boat. I purchased the second one just as a spare in-case it is needed.

I searched first but didn't find an answer to my question, How do others Protect/store their spare props on their boats? Also I thought I saw a special case once for storage but haven't found it again so it must have been my imagination.

You can also just tell me I am over thinking this as I do most things :D

I sent my wife out to find a container & she says she may have found something so I will see later today.

Just put it where someone won't trip over it or sit on it.Perhaps some foam rubber in a cardboard box. Or perhaps a custom teak box lined with goose feathers.lol

i bought one of those canvas type carry bags, maybe 14"x22" and keep a sears plastic storage tool kit, the extra prop, hub, wrench and small anchor stored in there. doesnt take up much space in aft storage compartment...

Wife came home with a Rubbermaid container that seems like it fits well. It also has room for a few tools & Hub Kit. In my boat storage really isn't a issue since IMO it has plenty of storage compared to many different boats I have seen.

Back in my engine bay, off to one side, is my stack of spare life jackets. I carry a single orange one, then a 3-pack of orange ones, then my ski-jackets on top.

Inside the neck hole of the bottom orange one is a thick plastic baggy with my spare prop in it. Then all the others jackets are stacked on top.

Out of the way, doesn't rattle or bump around, and easy to get to if I ever need it.

i would worry more about the tow vehicle, Land Rover is one of the least dependable 4x4 on the road.

I have owned multiple Land Rovers & never had any major issues unless you count being side swiped, hitting a median wall then bounce rolling 3 or more times. Oh & we walked away instead of being carried away or cut out so for now I will stick with my Land Rover. Also we have been towing our Travel Trailer for years with no major issues.

Land Rovers are very finicky though & must have Real Premium fuel from a good supplier with well maintained pumps & regular routine maintenance. Also everything on them cost an arm & two legs LOL.
