I am new to Boating and could use some advice.
Yesterday I bought a replacement motor for my boat. It's a 1987 Johnson 30HP.
Got it home and checked the compression. It came up at 110-105. within speck for an older motor I guess.
The guy I bought it from said that he tried to start it in the spring and there was a spark that came out from the
controls near the dead man's switch.
I took them apart and don't see any signs of a poor connection or blackened wires.
I was thinking of by passing the switch just to see if it has spark.
If anyone has any Ideas please let me know.
Thanks
