I read in two different servicebulletins spark gap should be 0.9 mm or 0.8 mm.

How important is the spark gap ? Which difference does it do. Does it affect spark plug temperature ?

Re: Spark Gap how important

It does effect the spark's temp.
Other reasons for getting the proper gap are;
Fouling. Too close and the byproducts will bridge the gap,and the plug is fouled.
Too far and the Cd unit will not be able to fully discharge,and will find another shortcut to arc-over...This could be in the plug wires, or worse, the unit itself or the coils to nearest ground. Which will ruin the said part (Coil/plug wire/switchbox ect).
I would go with the NEWEST service buliten's recommended gap.

Hope this helps.
