spark issue

[1983 ercoa 21']

Trying to help a friend out he has a 40355d didn't have spark on bottom cylinder but did on top via timing light test. Finally got flywheel of for a look at the points they didn't look burnt cleaned them any how still no spark. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try swapping the top coil with the bottom coil and see if the problem follows the swap. If so, looks like you need a new coil, if not, then you have a point to coil issue. JMHO!
