Spark Plug Fouled and Wet

Ive been having some trouble with idle speeds. I figured it might need a tune. So I am starting with plugs. I just pulled the plugs and they were wet with oil (and most definitely fouled). I am guessing that the fouling is a result of an incorrect fuel mixture. Is the excess oil a sign of something worse. I have been idling it a lot lately because of starter problems and other stuff. I know I have had the fuel mixture wrong by running it 25-1. I have since been running the fuel at 50-1 (lot less smoke).

Question: with this background information - is the wet oil on the plug normal?

Normal for too much oil doing a lot of idling around maybe, hard to say exactly as you didn't say what outboard you have.;)

Hp? Model number? both are a big help in getting you help.

Model # is essential in any query. We'll know what we're dealing with then..

A '62 7.5hp is much different than a '83 for your particular question...
