hi, does anyone know the spark plug gap for a 20 hp johnson, i'm not sure on the year, could be 1965, thankyou to you who respond. p.s i am also experiancing backfires when trying to start the engine, any suggestions, cheers
Morning junc20...<br /><br />Please post model number of engine so we can see what you have. Spark plug gap will be .030. A little more info will help also as to how long have you had the engine and did this problem just start? Has it been setting long? The engine, if it is a 65' will be equipped with points and condensers. But, please post model number so we can be sure of year. I don't recall 20hp's that long ago, 18's yes.
