Spark plug gap on 82'evinrude

Deuce22,<br /><br /> According to my manual your plug gap is 0.040<br />The plug called for is a champion L77J4.I have a 79 johnson seahorse 85 hp ,uses the same plug......at the part store the number will be QL77JC4 the old number is outdated and they said these had a built in resistor...... <br /><br /> bluereel
