I have a 97 5.7L EFI mercruiser. This is my second season of ownership and I think I lost about 200 rpm from last year. WOT is 4000 now. Book 4200-4600rpm. The plugs are due to be replaced so I pulled several today to check them. My book says to gap at .040 but the 4 I pulled were .030. Do you think new plugs gapped correctly will give me back more rpms?
