To hopefully try to clear up some of the serial number confusion that comes from a remanufactured engine from Mercruiser that starts with a 9…
Unless somethings has changed in some recent years it used to be while the reman engines from Merc do come with a serial number that starts with a 9 like posted above, there didn’t ever really seemed to be a definite way to obtain any additional needed information using the number in any search functions included internal Mercruiser to dealer communications websites… The 9 number just seemed more of an indication that the block is a remand engine if you knew what you’re looking at vs the normal serial number we’re accustomed too seeing.
So usually if you don’t happen to have the original serial number then knowing as much other info about the engine like the OP posted above such as the part (model) number, engine date it was made, engine designation of type, Horsepower, etc. and either search that info online for parts diagrams or search within the following link for a match to your type,

To add a bit more to the confusion when looking at remand engines parts diagram within that parts link above, most of them start with a 1G****** serial number “range” which I’m unsure of where the new owners of the engine would obtain the 1G number when the block number starts with a 9 and the installing dealers hands out paper work with a 9 number too… But with those questionable concerns, it’s still not impossible to find the right parts for your remand engine, it just helps to be aware of the general basics when trying to find your engine match up.
