Motor is 1986 Johnson 110HP. Plugs are QL77JC4; I do a lot of low speed operation, so gap is .040". Last fall I gave it a pretty good decarb with Seafoam, per the well known methods. Engine temp is correct, somewhere around 135 - 140F. After the decarb, put in NEW plugs and ran it pretty much high speed/wide open (4000 to 5200 RPM) for a good 30 minutes, then back to ramp, last 5 minutes at low speed. Back home, pulled plugs to see what they looked like. I was surprised to see that the plugs for cylinders 3 & 4 looked different than the plugs for cyl's 1 & 2. To me, I like the look of cyl's 1 &2. On Cyl's 3 & 4, the earth electrode appears almost silvery (the pic makes it look white). My immediate reaction was that there is a fuel problem/carb adjustment problem. This motor had an extensive repair by a BRP authorized dealer not that long ago and they supposedly had things set up right and carbs adjusted. The motor feels like it is running real well, but I am a bit disturbed by the appearance of the plugs. Any educated opinions out there?
