spark plug replacement

I've got a 2004 Starcraft Stardeck. I bought it in 2007 and it was used only like 6 times. I've used it 10ish times a year, but moved from Houston to Austin and plan on using it a lot more. It doesn't have an hour gauge. I want to replace the plugs. Should I also replace the wires?

What about the plugs? Do I have to get them from volvo? What about the plugs? Are marine plugs special?

Re: spark plug replacement

I would suggest you NOT get them from Volvo, they made a deal with Champion and that is what they sell. If you still have the OEM plugs in it, they are AC. Get the same type replacement. Since you give no models or serial numbers off the engine or even what kind it is, it's impossible to say what they are.

Re: spark plug replacement

Use the AC-MR43LTS spark plugs.

I also edited your model number into your information. It saves having looking for the SN to find the model.

Thanks Don. What do you mean? What did you edit? Is there any other info I should add? Do you mean my profile?? I looked at that but didn't see it. Thanks!

Re: spark plug replacement

Also Don, do you recommend changing the plugs? If so, any recommendations? NOTE, I have never taken it to pure salt water (nor was it before I got it), however I was in brackish water many times the past 3 years. I don't know if that has an impact.

Re: spark plug replacement

I just added the 5.0GL-E to your orignal post.

If you winterize and fog the engine, I recommend changing the plugs yearly along with the cap and rotor. With the price of gas, you might as well have the best ignition you can have.
