Spark plug tool?

I am trying to change the spark plugs on a 96
four winns horizon with the 5.0 ford.
My problem is, the regular spark plug wrench won't fit over the
plugs because they come out of engine at an angle.
Is there a special tool I can use?
I would hate to have to remove the manifolds to have
a clean shot at the plugs!

There are universal joints for most socket wrenches, just be careful not to let them flip to a 90 degree angle when turning them or the plug might bust in half.

You can also get "Wobble head" extensions. I like to use them. You can get them at most places (Sears, auto parts stores etc)

I found a set at Harbor freight for about 10 bucks. Thought I would "give them a try". Now, I don't think I use anything else.. they are great!

Both suggestions above are good ones. If for some reason you still cant reach them, you might have to take the manifold off.
A 5.0 Ford, you must have one of the last ones used in sterndrives.

This may help...You can make one with a bench grinder.

I had some tight access on my Mercruiser 350 (manifolds) and received Don's suggestion. Most of my sockets didn't have enough "meat" to that much grinding and found the equivelent at Autozone, which included T-bar and universal joint for less than $10. Not sure if it is enough for your Ford, but worth looking into.

T-bar is the only way to go. Found out after trying a lot of different socket setups. Can do my 5.8l which has the same stupid design in about 15 minutes.

So you guys that are using the plug socket on the t-bar...

You just hand torque the plugs? Doesn't the u-joint give you too much play?

I broke two plugs last weekend working with a standard ratchet with an extension bar - good times...
